Dear Hutchings Community,
The school year is underway and at Hutchings, we're really hitting our stride. Everyday, students are being presented with great learning opportunities by our staff. Students are responding to these opportunities, and we're building great positive momentum as we move into fall.
Something we are very committed to as a staff is recognizing the great work our students do. We know that students learn from one another and model positive behaviors in the choices they make and the challenges they face. Recognizing these moments of positivity and nurturing leadership from our students will always be a priority.
One way we recognize students is with Husky Paw slips from staff members. Every week, students earn these by demonstrating combinations of Husky Traits like respect, responsibility, kindness, effort, and determination. We then select one grade level Husky Paw every week to recognize. This week, we took pictures of past Husky Paw winners that are posted on our bulletin board. So many kids have been and will be celebrated for the examples they set with our Husky Paws.
We also have our Students of the Month, which is another great way we honor students who demonstrate our Husky Traits consistently. I had a brainstorming session with some teachers about might add a few wrinkles to our Student of the Month process, and we are certainly thinking about other ways to celebrate our students.
It's a good problem to solve - the kids at Hutchings are wonderful, and they do great things every single day. We want to make sure we are consistently recognizing their positive contributions to our school, and we're happy to use our creative energies to explore new celebrations.
Finally- an invitation! Next week is SPIRIT WEEK! I can't wait to join in with our staff and students to show just how much spirit I have! Thanks to our Student Council for designing great Spirit Days for us!
Sincerely,
Ben Malecki
Principal

MyStop App Issue on Android Devices
Recent software updates in the Android operating platform (version 12 or 13) are causing compatibility issues with the Versatrans My Stop mobile app. This issue may result in the app uninstalling from the Android phone home screen and/or not appearing after attempting to reinstall it from the Google Play store. The Versatrans development team is taking all steps to resolve this issue as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause for our families using Android devices.
