Begindergarten and Kindergarten Registration
The district is now enrolling begindergarten and kindergarten students for the 2022/2023 school year. All begindergarten and kindergarten registrations will be completed online. Information on both the begindergarten and kindergarten programs and links to the online registration forms can be found at HowellSchools.com/KDG. In March, each elementary school will host a virtual meet and greet for parents. Information on the meet and greet will be shared at a later date. Please help us spread the word that registration is now open by telling any families you know who have a student entering begindergarten or kindergarten next school year.

Health and Safety Reminders
The number of COVID-19 cases in our county remains very high, and we all must continue to work together to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 within our schools. If your child is showing any signs of illness, they must stay home. If your child or someone within the house has COVID-19 test results pending, they must stay home. In addition to staying home when sick, the LCHD still strongly recommends that all individuals wear a mask while in public, practice frequent hand washing and avoid large gatherings.
#OneHowell Committee Public Forums
The district’s #OneHowell Committee has scheduled two public forums to gather community feedback on how the district can revise the district’s Adaptive Plan to align to the Portrait of a Highlander. The first forum is scheduled for Tuesday, January 25, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Meabon Room at the Howell Carnegie Library. The second forum will be held on Monday, January 31, from 6 p.m. to 7: p.m. at the Howell Opera House.
Counselor's Corner
We know there is value in having family dinners, but with some children in quarantine and others at sports and additional extra-curricular activities, it can be difficult! Think outside of the box. Have you thought about setting up a family zoom and meeting everyone where they’re at? Even connecting for 10 minutes is better than not connecting at all!
