Dear Northwest Families,
It’s hard to believe we are already nearing the halfway point of the first quarter! The energy from the start of school in mid-August has carried into September, and it’s been exciting to watch our students settle into routines, build friendships, and engage in meaningful learning.
As we reflect on these first few weeks, I want to share a few highlights and reminders:
Strong Start – Classrooms are buzzing with activity and students are showing growth both academically and socially. Our teachers have done a tremendous job building a positive classroom culture.
CARE in Action – We continue to see students demonstrating Compassion, Accountability, Respect, and Engagement each day. Ask your child how they’ve shown CARE at school recently—you’ll be amazed at their responses!
Attendance & Routine – Consistency matters. Thank you for helping your child arrive on time and ready to learn each day. These daily habits set the tone for success.
Looking Ahead – With the midpoint of the quarter approaching, we’ll soon be preparing progress updates and continuing our focus on assessment data to guide instruction. More information will be coming home in the weeks ahead.
Halloween Costumes- I know people are going to start to buy Halloween costumes very soon. Please remember that we do not allow masks or full face paint. Also, please keep costumes fun and please avoid anything with weapons, fake blood, or anything too "scary."
Thank you for your partnership as we work together to make this a strong start to the school year. Our students are already accomplishing great things, and we’re excited for what’s to come in the second half of the quarter.
Yours in Education,
Craig Munro
