Principal's Message

Dear Northwest Families,

We’re incredibly fortunate to have such a generous community here at Northwest! Every time we fundraise or seek support, our community steps up in remarkable ways. This year, we’re excited to present two wonderful opportunities to give back to our entire Howell community.

1) Annual Gleaner’s Canned Food Drive
Throughout November, we’ll be collecting canned goods and other non-perishable items to stock Gleaner’s Food Bank. Our school’s goal is to collect an impressive 2,500 cans! Monetary donations are also welcome, with every dollar counting as the equivalent of two cans.

2) City of Howell Annual Holiday Fundraiser
This year, we’re partnering with the Howell Police Department through Officer Sawyer, our School Resource Officer, to collect coins, bottle return slips, and checks made payable to the City of Howell. All funds raised will go toward helping provide Christmas for local families in need. Additionally, two students will have the unique chance to ride along with Officer Sawyer in his police car—the top earner and a randomly selected student from all who donate.

New Building Updates
Our planning for the new Northwest building is progressing smoothly. We’re now making detailed choices for the building, such as fixtures and door hardware, while also preparing for the early stages of construction. In April, part of our playground will be affected, but we’re arranging to relocate key pieces of equipment. There may be moments that feel a bit inconvenient, but the end result will be well worth it!

Fall Weather Reminder
As fall settles in, we encourage you to send extra clothes with your student. We go outside even when the ground is wet, and students in all grades, from BK to 5th, sometimes get wet or muddy. We have limited spare clothes available, but having their own extra set helps keep them comfortable.

Thank you for your continued support and generosity!

Yours in education,

Craig Munro

Principal
