Dear Northwest Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful summer break! We are back and gearing up for another fantastic year at Northwest Elementary. This year is especially significant as it's one of our last in this building. More information about the new building will be shared soon, but for now, I'd like to kick off the school year with some important details.
Teacher Placements: Teacher placements will be available on PowerSchool on Thursday, August 15th. Please note that we do not accept specific teacher requests after these placements are posted.
Open House: Our Open House is on Monday, August 19th. The schedule is as follows:
- Begindergarten/Kindergarten:

- 5:45 - 6:30 PM (Last names N - Z)
- Grades 1 - 5:

- 6:00 - 6:45 PM (Last names A - M)

- 6:45 - 7:30 PM (Last names N - Z)
We understand that these times may not work for everyone, and that’s perfectly fine. These time slots are guidelines to help reduce crowding in the building.
School Supplies: We provide all necessary school supplies, but we know that picking out new supplies can be fun. Students will use crayons, pencils, scissors, markers, etc., daily. Rest assured, all essential materials will be supplied.
School Meals and Free/Reduced Lunch Application: The recent budget for the State of Michigan includes free breakfast and lunch for all students for the 2024-25 school year. However, we strongly encourage families to fill out the application for free/reduced meals, as qualifying offers additional benefits. Applications can be found HERE.
