Dear Northwest Families,
Halloween
We will be celebrating Halloween with our annual Halloween Parade starting at 2:00 on October 31st.. Families are welcome to join us while we walk some of the sidewalks near our school building. More information will be shared next week. Please remember we are going back to the “No Masks” rule. We are looking forward to a Howelling good time!!
Visit
We had a great visit this week from Superintendent MacGregor and Board Vice President Tarara. They were able to listen to Mrs. Sulkowski’s class sing in Music class, talked with a few of our 5th grade leaders, explore our new Nest, and even checked out some awesome artwork produced by our students. We have so many great things happening at Northwest!!
Talon Update
I am sure you have heard all about Talon at home. We have tried to start to integrate him into classrooms for very short durations to train him and to get the students used to him coming in. Everyone is so excited to see him!
Bond Update
On Tuesday, November 7, our community will vote on the Our Kids, Our Community, Our Future Bond Proposal. If approved, the bond proposal would provide $258 million for improvements to our district while expecting to maintain the current tax rate of 5.5 mills. If approved, the bond proposal would fund the construction of a new modern Northwest Elementary on the same property as our current school. Our students and staff would remain in our current school while the new school is being constructed. Our newer classroom furniture and technology would move into the new building while older, outdated technology and furniture would be replaced. To learn more about what this new school would include, please visit https://bit.ly/3Pvbxrh. To learn more about the bond proposal, please visit HowellSchools.com/Bond. Please remember to vote on November 7 on the Our Kids, Our Community, Our Future Bond Proposal.
Yours in education,
Craig Munro
