Northwest News 3/3/2023

Dear Northwest Families,

To say we are excited about our new pet is an understatement! If you haven’t heard, Northwest has a new academic and emotional support pet: Talon, our black Lab. At this time, he is kept exclusively in the office in order to get acclimated to the sights, sounds, and smells of our building. Kids are not permitted to touch or pet him until he is fully trained, which will be happening in the spring/summer. We are so grateful that our Senior Survivors are raising money to support the “Howell Hownds.” Talon will be a great addition to our “Hownd” pack!

We will be participating with HHS Senior Survivors through our very own Junior Survivors!  Each elementary has 3-4 Junior Survivors that will be working to raise money for the “Howell Hownds” cause. Our Northwest Junior Survivors are: Brady Lamb, Ella Gendron, and Kaley Medelis!!  Congrats to them, and thank you to all who applied!!

Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences are taking place on Thursday, March 9th from 4:30 - 7:30.  These are scheduled “as needed,” so you should have received something from your child’s teacher if they would like to meet. If you did not receive a communication from the teacher, or you would like to talk about your child’s academic progress, please reach out to them!

Yours in education,

Craig Munro

Principal
