Northwest News 2/16/2023

Dear Northwest families,

Happy mid-winter break! As you know, a partial power outage closed Northwest, giving families some additional unexpected time together. We hope you enjoy these few days - catch your breath, reconnect. We look forward to seeing you back at school on Tuesday, February 21st!

PARENTGUIDANCE.ORG

The Livingston Educational Service Agency has partnered with an organization called ParentGuidance.org to provide every Howell parent access to some amazing opportunities:

On-demand courses that parents can access to help support their child

On-demand self-help courses for parents

Access to an individual parenting coach for up to 30 minutes each week

The ability to message a coach and receive responses within 24 hours when families experience difficult moments

ParentGuidance.org is intended to be used by parents and will not be used in the school setting. To learn more about the coaching program, please visit https://bit.ly/3VpVsnn. To register to be connected with a free parenting coach, please visit https://bit.ly/3RZgEO8 and click "Register Today."

WATCHES

Please refrain from allowing Smart Watches to come to school with your child. Aside from the distraction and potential disturbances they can cause, they do fall under the “wireless communication device” portion of our Student Handbook. If, for some reason, it is necessary that they stay with your student, please let your child’s teacher know, and talk to him/her about leaving it in their locker (this will also protect it from falling into the wrong hands).

Yours in education,

Craig Munro

Principal
